Highest fastest-lap rate
- Value
- 45.10% (23 fastest laps from 51 starts)
- Held by
- Juan Manuel Fangio
How it is derived
drivers.fastest_laps - a shared fastest lap counting for each driver - over the driver's starts. Drivers with fewer than 15 starts are not ranked: it is the floor Wikipedia's List of Formula One driver records uses, and below it a handful of races decides the figure. An entry counts as a start unless its result is DNQ, DNPQ, DNS, DNP or EX - did not qualify, pre-qualify, start or practise, or excluded before the start - so a pit-lane start counts and so does a retirement on the first lap. Next: Jim Clark 38.89% (28 of 72), Alberto Ascari 37.50% (12 of 32), Sir Stirling Moss 28.79% (19 of 66).
