Highest pole position rate
- Value
- 56.86% (29 poles from 51 entries)
- Held by
- Juan Manuel Fangio
How it is derived
drivers.poles over the driver's race_entries rows, for drivers with at least 15 of them: entries, not starts, because pole is taken before the start and is kept by a driver who then does not start. Wikipedia's List of Formula One driver records also counts entries for this table, with the same floor. The race records do not hold every entry a source counts - an Indianapolis 500 non-qualifier has no row, nor has every entry that did not start - so a driver's entries here can be fewer; where a stored entries figure differs, the difference is a stored-total row in discrepancies. Next: Jim Clark 45.21% (33 of 73), Alberto Ascari 43.75% (14 of 32), Ayrton Senna 40.12% (65 of 162).
